About us

BSC was founded by a group of trustees and Jane Gillis. Jane and Liz Ogborne worked together for many years as our BSC Consultants, helping to shape BSC as a new charity.

Jane is currently our main BSC Consultant and works closely with the BSC Trustees, drawing on their vast experience of working in local churches, schools and community settings, both past and present.

Jane Gillis

Jane worked as a Geography teacher for several years. She then worked at Christ Church in Clifton, Bristol, as their Children’s Minister and School Community worker. Jane has also run her own Forest School business. She currently works part time with Bristol Schools Connection, and part time with the Diocese of Bristol as their Under-18s Chaplaincy Adviser. Jane loves being outdoors and exploring wild places with her husband Andy, friends, family and miniature schnauzer Billy!

Jane Gillis

Jane trained and worked as a Geography teacher for several years. She then worked for 8 years at Christ Church in Clifton, Bristol, as their Children’s Minister and School Community worker. Jane also runs a Forest School business called SG Forest School. She loves being outdoors and exploring wild places with her husband Andy, friends, family and miniature schnauzer Billy!
